To be the hands and feet of Jesus. That means to do what He did and to go where He went. To be Jesus' hands and feet we will get dirty. We will go where we once did not want to go. We assist those that are considered undeserving by many. We give to those that can never give back in return. We will extend grace to anyone because we need grace ourselves.
Because Jesus came to this earth to be here for us, we are... Here4Them.
"To reach every tribe, language, and people." Revelation 14:6
Scott and Paul were in western Ethiopia in a remote location and they were there to preach the Gospel. They had brought with them the "Jesus Film" to show to the people. The Jesus film has been translated in to over 900 languages and one of those languages is understood by many of those present that day, Many of the people were able listen to the film without the need of an interpreter which is so much more meaningful. The village where Scott and Paul were at does not have electricity, so they brought along a small generator to run the video projector and a portable sound system. This was the first time that many of the people had ever seen a film. Paul asked a question of the people that had gathered to view the film. "How many of you have never heard of the man named Jesus Christ?" And many, too many, raised their hand.
"This good news about the kingdom will be told in all the world. The people in all countries must know about it. And then the end will come." Matthew 24:14 (BWE)
In the West, many Christians are thinking that the Gospel has been preached to the whole world, but sadly that is not the case.
So, we are... Here4Them.
By combining medical and humanitarian work with the presentation of the Gospel souls will be saved. First we strive to meet peoples physical needs then we present to them the Gospel. This is the example Jesus gave to us during His time here on earth, for this reason, this is our goal also.
To Go into all the world and preach the good news. Mark 16:15
Jesus also said to make disciples of all nations. Mark 28:19
Why this goal? Because if Jesus returned now the number of people that Jesus would take with Him to heaven would be too small. Jesus died for ALL. Presently there is an estimated 1.2 billion people that still have not heard the name of Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "this gospel of the Kingdom will be preached to the whole earth and then the end will come." Many Christians are praying for Jesus to return now but Jesus is delaying His return because there are so many more that He still wants to save. Jesus called all of his followers to work with him for the salvation of the lost. Jesus calls us to sacrifice for those that still need to hear the gospel. See Isaiah 58.
Jesus called us to love unconditionally and to sacrifice. Some are to sacrifice their time, some share of their finances, others are to go to foreign lands and others are to go to their neighbors. But we are all to GO somewhere.
To show love to others in the same way that Jesus Christ has shown love to us. "I give you a new law. That law is, Love each other. As I have loved you, so you also love each other. This is how all people will know that you are my disciples." John 13: 34 & 35 (BWE)
The love of Father God and Jesus is unconditional. Let's think about that a minute. His love for the human race is not based on our behavior, our performance, whether we return his love, or on being rich or poor. Jesus does not give a few chances to accept Him as Lord and then get angry and yell at us. The love of Father God for the human race never stops. Jesus said that as his followers, we are to love others in the same way that he loves us. We are striving to show the unconditional love of Father God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit to those that do not know it exists.
Here4Them lives out the unconditional love of Jesus through humanitarian and medical assistance. See the Abdi Bori and and medical projects to learn more of how we are working to do this.
