A hyena And A boy.I will call this boy Gemechis. One night He and his father and brother were sleeping outside of their home on the ground because ants had invaded their home.
All of a sudden the father was awakened by the screaming of Gemechis. In the star light he could see that a hyena had Gemechis's head in it's mouth and was starting to drag him away. The father was prepared by having a stick with which he struck the hyena a few times and the lone hyena took off. Gemechis was brought to Gimbi Adventist Hospital. for medical care. A piece of his scalp was missing. The area on top of his head where there was no scalp measured about 2 inches by 5 inches. So Gemechis was taken into surgery where he had a skin graft done. He was an inpatient for a little more than two weeks. When his father was visiting, he would express his gratitude for the help that Here4Them was giving his son. Skin Grafts For This BoyWhen the boy in the photo to the left was younger he fell into a cooking fire and was badly burned. During his healing process the skin on his left arm and left side grew together. His upper arm and side had grown together. He could not move his arm away from his body. He was brought to Gimbi Adventist Hospital in hopes of getting some relief from this huge problem.
A series of skin grafts were performed and were partially paid for by Here4Them. After a three week hospital stay the little boy was happy to go home. |

Vaginal Uterine Prolapse SurgeriesAnother common surgery that is needed in this rural area is to do a reconstructive surgery for vaginal uterine prolapse (UVP). This is common in women that have given birth but have gone back to their strenuous task of keeping the house and cooking. Here4Them has coordinated a few UVP surgery projects.
