Abdi Bori is all about children. It is a service provided by efforts of Monica Barlow and her family. When Monica was in Ethiopia she started assisting several children that lived on the streets because they were orphaned. Monica gave the name "Abdi Bori" to the program. Abdi Bori means, tomorrow's hope! Now Abdi Bori is daily assisting 70+ children who are all from the poorest of the poor. This programs operates 365 days a year.
The services that are provided are; a daily hot meal, school uniforms, tutoring, basic medical needs, clothes and shoes. The students are given a choice as to whether they want to be sponsored to attend the Adventist Mission School or to attend the local public school. All but 5 or 6 have chosen to attend the Adventist Mission School. Also, Periodically mattresses are provided to the children. $25.00 per month will supply all these resources to one child!
